Mustardseed & Moonshine
From lilies to fritillarias, poppies to daylilies - Mustardseed and Moonshine, the botanically inspired crockery takes form in ceramic platters, nesting bowls, mugs, cups and saucers, dinnerware and serveware. Every piece is a flower! Handmade in South Africa, Mustardseed and Moonshine ceramics are beautifully packaged and completely functional - safe for use in a conventional oven, microwave and dishwasher. Founded by Kate Carlyle in Cape Town, South Africa in 1992, Mustardseed and Moonshine celebrates her love of the botanical form. The idea was to make beautiful ceramic flowers that were both usable and lasting, flowers that were meticulously crafted, and yet simultaneously robust and functional. Although the company has grown over the years, it remains a studio of dedicated artists and the pride that goes into each piece is tangible. In 2005 the Daylily Navajo cup and saucer was selected as one of "Oprah's Favorite Things."
